Lakefront Boardwalk Promenade
The Lakefront Boardwalk skirts the edges of scenic Lake Charles and features a ___- mile walking and jogging path. Along the Boardwalk, pedestrians can take in the views of the marina, Schooner’s Landing for larger commercial vessels and the Sea Wall. The Boardwalk currently stretches from the Bord du Lac Marina around to Veterans Memorial Park. The scenic path features custom ironwork lampposts with themed banners denoting Landings on the Boardwalk, each of which is home to unique artwork, ranging from a fountain, sculptures and a 9/11 Memorial. Partially covered rest areas are located at various points along the Boardwalk.
The Boardwalk picks back up at the Crying Eagle/Port Wonder site on the northern shore of the lake and extends down to I-10 North Beach. Future development plans include reconnecting the north and south portions of the Boardwalk, making the entire Lakefront pedestrian friendly.
